It’s almost Autumn and your ‘All Things Fall’ girl can hardly wait! As a matter of fact, the official first day of fall is September 22nd (yes, I’m that friend who memorizes the first day of the season), and with the upcoming shift, it makes me feel all warm and happy inside.
While the last year and a half has been pretty difficult for many, fall brings a sense of familiarity; and in these “unprecedented times” familiarity is a very welcome thing! Even more so, it’s always nice to have little things to look forward to especially when the future can sometimes be unpredictable & a tad too much.
So, as the season comes rolling in, here’s some ideas that I hope will inspire some optimism and excitement for the sweet enjoyments autumn offers.
PUMPKIN SPICE EVERYTHING
I want as much pumpkin spice I can consume any kinda way I can get it. I want it in waffles, coffee, pie, cookies, donuts, cupcakes, butter…yes, butter so you can spread it on everything!!! So add Pumpkin spice to your fall kitchen staples and get ready to fall in love.
SPOOKY MOVIES
I may be scared at night, okay, probably for the rest of my life because of them, but a good spooky movie gives you that kind of jolt that lets you know you’ve still got a pulse! And, to be honest, Fall is the perfect time to binge-watch every spooky film you’ve ever had the slightest inclination to see. I mean nothing gets you in the mood for autumn and Halloween like a good not being able to sleep without a night light type of flick…right?
INDIE FLICKS
If you can’t bring yourself to buy a house full of night lights for the aftermath of spooky flicks, consider an Indie Flick, or what I like to call the autumn version of Hallmark’s Christmas movies. Whether a rom-com (romantic comedy) or a good whodunit, enjoy a snuggly curl on the couch with the plethora of great fall flicks.
FOOTBALL SEASON
I might not understand what’s going on half the time but I sure as heck get ALL into the sports spirit. Yep, Sunday night football is back and I’m supporting my favorite team from the comfort of my couch…with my favorite snacks, plus a few new ones I’m dying to try from Pinterest, and a team jersey of course!
FALL-SCENTED CANDLES EVERYWHERE
If you walk into any store with a candle aisle, you’ve probably noticed the influx of fall-scented candles: apple, cinnamon, clove, caramel, cranberry, teakwood, amber, hazelnut, marshmallow, maple, and so much more!
I want my home to smell like allllll of it; a bonfire with smoldering scented embers, a forest full of pine trees, a bakery full of freshly baked pumpkin or apple treats…ahhh the possibilities.
FALL WEATHER
Not gonna lie, I’m pretty miserable in the summer even with all the fun outdoor activities you can do because I ha-ha-hate the heat! Chilly days with the sun slightly warming you from the crisp breeze is more of my go-to. Plus, I also can’t wait for the days/nights when it’s mildly windy with a hint of soft rain. That cozy comfy vibe creates the perfect time to relax, ponder possibilities, write a little, meditate, pray, snuggle with your boo, or dabble with crafts or board games.
FALL THEMED-DRINKS
Trying not to turn this into a fall food appreciation post but c’mon! Just imagine a mug of steaming hot coffee, freshly steeped tea, marshmallow ready cocoa, chai latte, or hot apple cider warming your hands as you sit down for your Zoom class or curled around some fluffy pillows watching those spooky movies
AUTUMN ACTIVITIES
Corn mazes, apple orchards, pumpkin patches, oh my! One of the best-known areas for orchards is in the Northeast. Between the apples, mini-pumpkins, cider drinking, homemade fall flavored donuts, breathtaking views, I can hardly wait to go visit!
FALL CLOTHES
If y’all recall, besides coffee, I live for fall fashion which is hysterical coming from an anti-mall (except for the food court and the home decor stores), anti-dressing room, and anti-shopping kinda girl. But when I do get dragged to a retail store, I’m all about comfort first then fashion. So, if you like that effortlessly stylish look with an emphasis on ease-of-dressing, this may be your season too! A great boot, a good scarf, and a fab sweater can never do you wrong!

Ohh you have me beat! I’m still waiting until October to go full ‘Spooky Scary Skeleton’ mode but I can hardly wait 🦴🎃!
I think I so love the fall-scented candles everywhere during autumn season.
One of the best parts of the season are those cozy candles!
I don’t really love pumpkin spice but am all for the cooler crisp air.
Le gasp! I’ve become such a pumpkin spice head it’s ridiculous! Ahh, the cool crisp air is so refreshing!
My favorite is the scented candles. I really like how they smell. Not a fan of the spooky movies, lol
Same! Those candles just reel me in and I have to buy a ton! Hahaha, I use to not be a fan of spooky movies either but now I’m slowly warming up to the idea!
Yes! I’m loving all of these. I’m so ready for fall too. It’s probably one of my favorite seasons. I love the candles, movies, scents and so much more.

Ooh, what’s one of your favorite things?
I love the Fall, it is my daughter’s favorite time so we spend a lot of time doing Fall stuff. I love pumpkin spice too so this is the perfect season for me.
Aww that so cute! It’s such a great time to do bonded activitues too! And a big yes for pumpkin spice!
Yes, there’s so much to appreciate during this season. It’s a great time to be outside but the pandemic is forcing us to do things within our homes.
Totally agree! I’ve been trying to come up with some social distant activities and I’m thinking apple picking might be the best? Or anything with a to of outdoor space!
This article gives me nostalgia. I can’t wait to try everything that’s been traditional within this season.
I felt it when writing this! I’ve missed some of the cozy vibes from fall and winter!
I stocked up on my fall candles today! I love this time of year.
Oh I need to get some fall candles! Which scents did you get? I love a white pumpkin/forest pine scent!
