73 Questions with Anna Elle Liz

August 28, 2019 7 min read 2 Comments

I can’t be the only one slightly obsessed with Vogue’s 73 Questions right? This ongoing series where celebrities are challenged to answer 73 rapid-fire questions usually in under 10 minutes has captivated the attention of millions.

But who says it has to just be for celebrities? Inspired by A Lady Goes West blog and her take on Vogue’s 73 Questions, I’d thought I’d give it a try and challenge y’all to get other bloggers in on this!

So without further ado, here we go:

1. What’s your favorite time of day? Dawn. Right before the sun comes up, the birds are chirping, and there’s a crisp breeze in the air.

2. What’s your biggest weakness? Not giving myself enough credit for what I achieve and not being present in the moment.

3. What’s your biggest strength? Being resilient.

4. What’s the biggest learning experience you’ve had? It’s better to be alone than lonely.

5. What’s your idea of a perfect date? Going to a cooking class where we learn to make recipes that we’ve never tried before, eating our creations, then going for a walk along the beach at dusk or night where there’s hopefully fireworks.

6. What’s one vice you wish you could give up? Comparison.

7. What’s a cause that is important to you? Helping people understand that people with disabilities aren’t any different than those without.

8. What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received? That I’d make a great mom.

11. What song can you listen to on repeat? Greenlight by Able Heart

12. What makes you smile the most? Babies and Dogs!!!

13. What’s one thing people don’t know about you? Even though I seem like I have my stuff together and nothing can shake me, I’m constantly worrying about messing up and not being good enough.

14. Heels or flats or sneakers? Gah! That’s so tough! Heels if I’m going out or going to work, flats for everyday wear, and sneakers for working out or if I’m running out of the house.

I like that advice your mom told you, “never let anyone change your character”, that’s brilliant! Congratulations on graduating and getting accepted to grad school, that’s an exciting accomplishment!?? O, I’ve been blasting Lizzo’s music over the summer, she’s such a queen. I think keeping water and lip gloss in your handbag are excellent must-have items too. I enjoyed learning a bit more about you, this was fun to read? thanks for sharing✌??

Thanks for taking the time to read it – I know it was a little long!

      – Momma’s usually know best
      – Almost wish I could go back to undergrad
      – Lizzo is who my inner-self inspires to be
      – I’d keep my bag stocked with helpful goodies if I could

I honestly had so much fun writing this and hope you get to write one too!

Wow...It's been a while hasn't it? Let's see, where to begin?
•
Well, this time last year, something felt really at odds with my spirit. I realized I needed a break from  social media— more so a break from Anna Elle Liz.
•
Believe it or not, I don’t particularly like spending a heckuva lot of  time on social media. For me, I've found that I’m more drained rather than replenished my when get my scroll on (hmmmp…  maybe someday I'll write  a blog post on that — Navigating Social Media When You Don't Really Like Social Media).Throw in all the viewing, reading, watching & clicking  - and a recipe for a major timeout was brewing.
•
Nuturing my personal and creative life, my growth made it clear that meeting the demands of Anna Elle Liz was something I could no longer do with the same excitement and vigor I once did.
 •
So, all this to say that Anna Elle Liz will be back (you know I can't miss out on Fall content) but at a slower and less scheduled pace.
•
You must also know that I can't even think about a return without extending a super big thank you to all of the kind followers/supporters who've patiently waited with me,  during my hiatus.
•
Cheers to you! Cheers to re-starting content again! And, cheer to reaching 3-years of Anna Elle Liz with y.o.u.

We all know about the stars of Thanksgiving…the main characters, turkey and ham. But what about the supporting cast, the secondary stars of the show; the side dishes. I mean without the sides, can the main dishes even shine?
·
The stuffing, the creamy mashed potatoes, the corn on the cob, the green bean casserole, the mac ’n’ cheese, … yep, I can take this train to foreverville. For now, I present you with a definitive and completely non-subjective ranking of some of my favorite Thanksgiving side dishes!
·
If you could only eat one dish for Thanksgiving, what would it be?

Name a more perfect fall photo 🍎
·
I love me some pumpkin, but apples are another great fall staple. And there's something about going apple picking with a basket and plaid scarf that feels like I'm fresh out of a New England town.

It’s that time of year when our thoughts turn to Thanksgiving and the day that is set aside to feel thankful for what we have.
·
But how can we turn gratitude into a daily habit instead of a once-a-year holiday obligation?
·
By recognizing the abundance we already have…our family, our relationships, our material things that bring us comfort and our memories, dreams, and hopes.
·
Our lives can be enriched so much if we take the time to be thankful and see the good in all that we have.
