7 Must-Have Fall Fashion Staples

Fall is my favorite, and I mean favorite, season of all. The moment that cool air begins to roll in, I instantly become euphoric. I’m talking cuddling up in sweaters, drinking hot apple cider, and soaking in all the warm colors of the changing leaves.

Now that fall is in full swing, it’s time to transition your wardrobe from summer to autumn. So, get out the ladder, reach in the back of your closet, or dust off those storage baskets and bins cause it’s fall clothing time. 

Here’s 7 Must-Have Fashion Staples to keep you trendy and warm this fall! 

COZY SWEATERS

Finally, sweater weather is back again! Time to start stocking up on some chunky and cable-knit sweaters to keep yourself warm and toasty. 

Chunky cotton knits are not only perfect for cool weather, but they’re also a quick way to pull-off a preppy and sophisticated look without much effort.

Dress it up with a velvet or leather skirt, tights, and ankle boots to create a chic fall look. If your fashion sense leans more casual, you can dress down your sweater with denim jeans and stylish sneakers to instantly create some casual vibes.

SCARVES

An oversized scarf is a perfect addition to any fall outfit. If you’re not into heavier fabrics just yet, they come in an endless array of weights that can easily accommodate how breezy your area may be. Throw one on with a sweater, a t-shirt, or a long-sleeved dress, and boom; you’ve pulled together just like that!

WOOL COATS

Wool coats are another great fall fashion staple that can also be dressed up by easily changing the pieces you pair it with.

I might have lied…ankle boots may just be the quintessential staple piece for fall. Versatile, chic, timeless, plus make you feel fearless when you walk? Yes, please!

BAGS

I’ve admittedly been a tad slow to embrace bags like I have scarfs and booties but I’m coming into the light. Big or small, leather or cloth, a clutch or body bag, they really do add one of the finishing touches to an outfit. This is especially true if you choose rich fall colors that can actually work as neutrals (think aubergine, sweet potato, cognac, green, mustard, and teal). 

Still not sure, just look at some leaves! 

By the way, complimenting someone’s bag is a great way to start a conversation or lift our fellow sisters up. Who can’t use more of that!

OVERSIZED SWEATER DRESS

Not sure if my thighs are ready for this close-up yet, but I’d pair a fabulous short sweater dress with some leggings and high-heeled boots. You almost can’t beat the effortlessness of a sweater dress, especially when it doesn’t require a lot of jewelry; just good undergarments and a nice bag.
