Sunday Prep Like a Boss

January 22, 2020 2 min read 11 Comments

Less stress and more productivity who wouldn’t want that?

The same way the first day of the month can set the tone for the rest of it, Sundays set the tone for the rest of the week ahead. So what better way to have a productive week than starting it off with a productive Sunday?

Here are a few habits to adopt on Sundays to set yourself up for a brighter and more efficient workweek!

PLAN THE WEEK AHEAD

After you rise, for some that means you’ve had breakfast and drank your coffee, it’s time to get around to some planning. I know there are people who’ve probably never used a planner (le gasp) and do just fine but I really really encourage you to give it a go. Jotting down all the things you need to get done will help you relax knowing you won’t forget important information.

Some important things to do:

  • Make a task list
  • Map out your week
  • Plan your outfits
  • Meal and snack prep

CLEAN YOUR SPACE

A clean uncluttered environment equals a clean uncluttered mind. So as difficult as it can be to carve out time to clean when you’re running around like a madman, ya gotta strike a balance.

Some important things to do:

  • Tidy up
  • Clean your workspace
  • Clean your digital workspace
  • Clean out your purse or backpack

RELAX (SERIOUSLY)

I’ve been guilty of maxin’ and relaxin’ all weekend only to arrive at Sunday night with a serious case of the blues. and I’m thinking I’m probably not alone. To combat this, many people suggest shifting most of your weekend tasks to Saturday, so you can free up Sunday for self-care (Check out my 3 Ways to Include more Self-Love in Your Routine for some ideas!)

Some ideas:

  • Attend an extra-long yoga class
  • Read a book
  • Flip through a magazine
  • Eat a healthy meal
  • Catch up with friends
  • Take a long aromatic hot bath or shower
  • Do a face mask
  • Watch a movie (at home or at the theater)

Whatever feels semi-indulgent in a way that still allows you to start the week fresh and prepared. (Note: day-long mimosas seem like a good fit, but the Monday hangover is the worst, so choose wisely!)

I sometimes wish our Sundays weren’t so busy with stuff. I am always wanting to get a real grip on what is happening in the following week.

So true! I love having Sundays to prep, but boy is there always a lot to do!

I am such a fan of being PREPARED! It makes a world of difference.

      YOU👏🏽CAN👏🏽NEVER👏🏽BE👏🏽TOo👏🏽PREPARED👏🏽

Lol, it’s the greatest feeling when you have everything checked and in place.

I don’t always get to do these on Sunday, but I try. When I can get these preparations for the week done it makes SUCH a difference! You have a lovely blog, by the way.

It really does make a difference prepping for the week on Sunday! Aww thank you so much, you as well!

        Thank you so much!!

I meal plan on Sundays. It helps me feel less stressed starting off the week knowing what to make my family each night.

    • annaelleliz January 23, 2020 at 12:26 am

So true! Especially when you come home from class or work, and can just reach in the fridge and grab exactly what you need without having to take so much time planning a meal!

Prepping for the week is smart and efficient. I wish I had starter doing it when I was younger. I also wish I had started prepping for the next day when I was younger too.

I really only started getting into it during my junior year of college and it changed my life! The amount of extra time you have is ridiculous!

Wow...It's been a while hasn't it? Let's see, where to begin?
•
Well, this time last year, something felt really at odds with my spirit. I realized I needed a break from  social media— more so a break from Anna Elle Liz.
•
Believe it or not, I don’t particularly like spending a heckuva lot of  time on social media. For me, I've found that I’m more drained rather than replenished my when get my scroll on (hmmmp…  maybe someday I'll write  a blog post on that — Navigating Social Media When You Don't Really Like Social Media).Throw in all the viewing, reading, watching & clicking  - and a recipe for a major timeout was brewing.
•
Nuturing my personal and creative life, my growth made it clear that meeting the demands of Anna Elle Liz was something I could no longer do with the same excitement and vigor I once did.
 •
So, all this to say that Anna Elle Liz will be back (you know I can't miss out on Fall content) but at a slower and less scheduled pace.
•
You must also know that I can't even think about a return without extending a super big thank you to all of the kind followers/supporters who've patiently waited with me,  during my hiatus.
•
Cheers to you! Cheers to re-starting content again! And, cheer to reaching 3-years of Anna Elle Liz with y.o.u.

We all know about the stars of Thanksgiving…the main characters, turkey and ham. But what about the supporting cast, the secondary stars of the show; the side dishes. I mean without the sides, can the main dishes even shine?
·
The stuffing, the creamy mashed potatoes, the corn on the cob, the green bean casserole, the mac ’n’ cheese, … yep, I can take this train to foreverville. For now, I present you with a definitive and completely non-subjective ranking of some of my favorite Thanksgiving side dishes!
·
If you could only eat one dish for Thanksgiving, what would it be?

Name a more perfect fall photo 🍎
·
I love me some pumpkin, but apples are another great fall staple. And there's something about going apple picking with a basket and plaid scarf that feels like I'm fresh out of a New England town.

It’s that time of year when our thoughts turn to Thanksgiving and the day that is set aside to feel thankful for what we have.
·
But how can we turn gratitude into a daily habit instead of a once-a-year holiday obligation?
·
By recognizing the abundance we already have…our family, our relationships, our material things that bring us comfort and our memories, dreams, and hopes.
·
Our lives can be enriched so much if we take the time to be thankful and see the good in all that we have.
