10 Uplifting and Positive Quotes to Grow Your Soul

March 18, 2020 2 min read 20 Comments

Isn’t it a wake-up call when things don’t go to plan?

I had originally planned all of my March blog posts in February with How to Rock Your Unemployment Journey and Post-Grad Money Lessons to be scheduled for the last two weeks.

I’ll admit, as COVID-19 became bigger and bigger, I was selfishly irked at the fact that I’d have to rework my posts. And if that wasn’t enough, my blog was down on my end, meaning I had no way to access, change, or even write an article for Wednesday (my normal posting day).

But as all of this was going on, I realized I no control over the situation… and that was okay. Instead of focusing on something relatively small in the grand scheme on things, I spent my days’ isolation prepping and getting the apartment in order; preparing to hunker down for however long my family and I need to.

As I’ve spent the last couple of days at home (four to be exact), I know that social distancing can be difficult for some, along with the fear COVID-19 brings, so I thought I’d share 10 quotes that spread positivity and hope in this uncertain and scary time.

“Unexpected kindness is the most powerful, least costly, and most underrated agent of human change.”

Bob Kerrey

“In times of stress, the best thing we can do for each other is to listen with our ears and our hearts and to be assured that our questions are just as important as our answers.”

Fred Rogers

“Don’t try to force anything. Let life be a deep let-go. God opens millions of flowers every day without forcing their buds.”

Osho

“Faith. It’s all about believing. You don’t know how it will happen. But you know it will.”

Anonymous

‘See and appreciate the present moment. Too often we spend all our time in our minds, or in our phones. Just embrace what’s in front of you. Notice again and again how fortunate you are. The evidence is all around you, and it’s beautiful, and well worth gathering into your awareness.”

Marc & Angel Chernoff

“Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.”

Desmond Tutu

“I don’t think of all the misery, but of the beauty that still remains.”

Anne Frank

“A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal.”

Steve Maraboli

“Once you choose hope, anything’s possible.

Christopher Reeve

“Mix a little foolishness with your serious plans. It is lovely to be silly at the right moment.”

Horace

I love the Osho quote about not forcing things. That’s something I still need to work on.

    • annaelleliz March 21, 2020 at 7:18 pm

It’s a quote I often forget to apply to my life too! It’s so easy to want to force things to go your way, but as my mom always tells me, sometimes I have to “Let go and let God”.

  • Singing A New Song March 20, 2020 at 5:28 pm

These truly are uplifting. One of my favorites is Matthew 7:12, Do unto others as you would have them do to you.

    • annaelleliz March 21, 2020 at 7:16 pm

I completely forgot about that one! It’s such a beautiful quote that should always be applied to whatever you do! That you so much for sharing!

There are several quotes here that are beautiful reminders of what’s important. My favorite is “Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.” by Desmond Tutu.

So true! That quote is definitely words to live by, especially now!

  • sseigler2 March 20, 2020 at 12:27 pm

I need this today! Funeral services tomorrow and a wake today. I’m not ready but are we ever ready for stuff like this?

    • annaelleliz March 20, 2020 at 12:43 pm

Praying for you, your family, and anyone in your circle who needs it for strength!

I don’t think we’re ever ready, and that might be the divine beauty in all of it.

So so glad this could help in any way, lots of love, and keep faith ✝
