Empower and Inspire: Uplifting Women

March 4, 2020

Happy almost International Women’s Day!

I’ll admit, before starting this blog, I paid little to no attention to this special day highlighted on my phone’s calendar (I know, I know, the shame). But after meeting so many amazing women who are thriving in all aspects of life, I can’t help but take a step back and want to celebrate as well as highlight the women in our lives who inspire, champion, motivate, teach, and love us every single day.

Case in point, I recently learned very quickly just how valuable my circle of support is. Though I’ve grown into a strong, independent, and handle-it-myself kinda gal over the years, I’ve encountered some personal adversity and emotional anguish that have left me a blubbering mess at times.

Without hesitation ladies in my family (hi mom), circle of friends, plus online buddies RALLIED to my side. They listened to me babble without judging, while simultaneously propping up my spirit and reminding me just what I was capable of.

What this all led me to realize was that I had a group of kickass women around me who were confident and comfortable enough with who they were, to want to help another woman feel the same. Even more inspiring is that they knew it didn’t take anything away from them to be emotionally or professionally available, it actually added another layer to how wonderful they are.

Down went society’s expectations of comparisons, jealousy, and superiority between women, and up came the desire to uplift, to have women thrive in ALL their full potential.

What I’d like to share for today? Truly thank the women in your life, continue adding to your circle, and work towards leading by example.

Because let’s be honest …

Empowered women, empower women

Women are strong and we need to support and empower each other more. I love this post so much. We really need to work together more and take more time for us since women take the brunt of a lot.

100% agree! When we come together and put aside all the petty bs, so many great things can happen!

Wow...It's been a while hasn't it? Let's see, where to begin?
•
Well, this time last year, something felt really at odds with my spirit. I realized I needed a break from  social media— more so a break from Anna Elle Liz.
•
Believe it or not, I don’t particularly like spending a heckuva lot of  time on social media. For me, I've found that I’m more drained rather than replenished my when get my scroll on (hmmmp…  maybe someday I'll write  a blog post on that — Navigating Social Media When You Don't Really Like Social Media).Throw in all the viewing, reading, watching & clicking  - and a recipe for a major timeout was brewing.
•
Nuturing my personal and creative life, my growth made it clear that meeting the demands of Anna Elle Liz was something I could no longer do with the same excitement and vigor I once did.
 •
So, all this to say that Anna Elle Liz will be back (you know I can't miss out on Fall content) but at a slower and less scheduled pace.
•
You must also know that I can't even think about a return without extending a super big thank you to all of the kind followers/supporters who've patiently waited with me,  during my hiatus.
•
Cheers to you! Cheers to re-starting content again! And, cheer to reaching 3-years of Anna Elle Liz with y.o.u.

We all know about the stars of Thanksgiving…the main characters, turkey and ham. But what about the supporting cast, the secondary stars of the show; the side dishes. I mean without the sides, can the main dishes even shine?
·
The stuffing, the creamy mashed potatoes, the corn on the cob, the green bean casserole, the mac ’n’ cheese, … yep, I can take this train to foreverville. For now, I present you with a definitive and completely non-subjective ranking of some of my favorite Thanksgiving side dishes!
·
If you could only eat one dish for Thanksgiving, what would it be?

Name a more perfect fall photo 🍎
·
I love me some pumpkin, but apples are another great fall staple. And there's something about going apple picking with a basket and plaid scarf that feels like I'm fresh out of a New England town.

It’s that time of year when our thoughts turn to Thanksgiving and the day that is set aside to feel thankful for what we have.
·
But how can we turn gratitude into a daily habit instead of a once-a-year holiday obligation?
·
By recognizing the abundance we already have…our family, our relationships, our material things that bring us comfort and our memories, dreams, and hopes.
·
Our lives can be enriched so much if we take the time to be thankful and see the good in all that we have.
